Coronavirus – latest guidance – 17th March 2020
Tuesday 17th March 2020
ST BOTOLPH’S C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL
17th March 2020
We are closely monitoring the current situation regarding coronavirus and will continue to do all that we can to maintain normal school routines and take appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of our pupils and staff.
Yesterday, the Government introduced new guidance on whole household isolation:
- If you or another member of your household have symptoms of coronavirus, all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14 day period starts from the day the first person in the house became ill. It is likely that people living within a household will infect each other or be infected already. Staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community.
- Anyone who starts to display symptoms during a 14 day isolation period needs to stay at home for 7 days from when their symptoms began.
The symptoms are:
- A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
- A new, continuous cough
Full stay at home guidance for households displaying symptoms can be found at:
Please follow this advice and inform the school as soon as possible if your child/ren will be absent. Please remember to state the reason as ‘self-isolation’ in any phone/answerphone/email messages. Children on self-isolation will be provided with work that they can do at home and will not be allowed to come back to school for 14 days.
