Updated school closure guidance

Dear Parents/Carers

Re: School Closure

I would like to thank everyone for their co-operation regarding the closure of the school from Monday.  Information is changing continually and we are trying our best to deal with all situations as they happen.

You will have all received a new Seesaw code, where your children will be able to access their home learning.  If you have any problem with this, staff will be available on Monday to assist you.  New learning will appear daily and we ask you to ensure that your children continue to engage with their school work.  We will be monitoring children’s participation, as we have a duty to provide education during these unprecedented times.  If you cannot access Seesaw, please contact the school and we will make alternative arrangements for you, to ensure that your children are still able to continue with their learning.

Children of key workers, who cannot stay safely at home and absolutely need to attend school, will be accessing the same learning in the school environment as those staying at home.  The school will be open for these children from 8.30am until 3.05pm.  This also applies to vulnerable children, whose parents have already been contacted.  Unfortunately, breakfast and after school clubs will not be available.

If you feel you fall into the key worker category and you have not contacted the school today, you will need to come to the school office first thing on Monday morning to complete a form so that we can organise adequate staffing.  We will be running with a skeleton staff to ensure the safety of our staff, as well as your children.

All of these measures have been put in place until 1st April.  Following the Easter holidays we should have updates from the government as to the further provision of education.

We will keep in touch through Newsletters and with updates on the school website.  If you are having any difficulties, staff will be available via telephone or email, during school hours, to support you.

Wishing you all good health at this difficult time from all of the staff at St Botolph’s and we look forward to when we are able to return to some form of normality.

Kind regards

Mrs A Chitty

Head Teacher
