On Thursday 3rd March, we celebrated Word Book Day at St Botolph’s. It was lovely to see so many children dressed up as their favourite book character.
We began the day with a special worship. Secret readers read extracts to us over the microphone and we had to try to guess who they were just from their voices. We managed to guess Mr Stanton and Mrs Martin, but Mrs Atwal had us all puzzled! We also learnt about how we can use our WBD book vouchers and celebrated the variety of costumes across the school.
During the day, each class participated in a range of activities including transforming a potato into a book character!
To end the day, we shared our favourite stories in a St Botolph’s Big Read where we all visited a member of staff that we don’t usually work with and listened to them reading to us. We then shared our thoughts about the book and also discussed our own favourite stories.
