Bastille Day

Bastille Day is celebrated on the 14th of July. In Paris, France on July 14, 1789 soldiers stormed the Bastille prison and took it over. This signaled the start of the French Revolution. It is the French National day and is called La Fete Nationale in France.

At St Botolph’s, we spent time playing French games using our Language Angels programme, learning about why Bastille Day is important to the people of France and tucking into tasty croissants baked for us by Lidl, Gravesend. Thank you Lidl!
