Following on from our Vaisakhi celebrations and to mark International Dance Day, we were honoured to welcome a Bhangra dance teacher into our school on Friday 29th April. The teacher led each class in a Bhangra Dancing workshop.
The children also learnt about the annual celebration of International Dance Day by learning that each year, a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the dance community is chosen to write an inspiring message and that the organisers choose a host city, which holds a huge celebration featuring dance performances, educational projects, presentations and student showcases.
Smaller dance events are also held around the world on 29th April to celebrate all the global dance forms.
