Year 6 trip to the Buddhist temple

As part of our Religious Education curriculum, Year 6 went to visit the Buddhist Temple in Dartford. We found out information about who visits and what celebrations take place in this special place of worship. We were fascinated by the beautiful decorations and Buddha Statue, who the monks worship.

The monks then played their instruments for us to hear and listen to. Why Buddhists meditate was explained and demonstrated to us.

They also explained about the importance of flowers and fruit as decorations. We were so grateful to the monks for allowing us to visit and learn about their culture.

We had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and to also share with them our learning of Buddhism.
