St. Botolph’s Pupils Join the World’s Largest Children’s Choir

Pupils from St. Botolph’s and pupils from other schools in our Trust were thrilled to participate in the Young Voices concert, the annual event that brings together thousands of primary school children from across the UK to form the world’s largest children’s choir. They assembled for an unforgettable evening at the O2 Arena, where they sang and danced their hearts out in a dazzling celebration of music and unity.

This annual event is a spectacular celebration of music, where the young singers perform a mix of pop, rock, and classical songs alongside professional musicians, dancers, and special guest artists. It is designed to inspire and unite young singers, giving them the incredible experience of performing in a world-class venue. Pupils from our school, Halling Primary, Ditton Juniors, Holy Trinity C of E, Sedley’s C of E, Saint George’s Primary Phase, Stone St Mary’s C of E, Shorne C of E and Sutton-At-Hone C of E travelled to London for the highly anticipated show on Friday, 24th January.

The event was an explosion of energy and joy, with the talented students lighting up the stage as the ensemble performed an electrifying setlist. The night featured a fantastic mix of songs, from the uplifting beats of Shakira’s Try Everything to the timeless fun of Footloose. Each song was delivered with boundless enthusiasm, showcasing the hard work and dedication of every student involved.

One of the night’s most memorable moments was the vibrant pop medley, which included hits like Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things and Katy Perry’s Firework. The sheer excitement in the arena was palpable as thousands of voices joined together in harmony, filling the space with an incredible sense of unity and celebration. The audience couldn’t help but sing along and cheer as the performers radiated joy, passion, and confidence on stage.

Beyond the music, the event was a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of the arts in education. Seeing our pupils involved in such a grand performance was a proud moment for everyone involved—teachers, parents, and, most importantly, the children themselves. The experience showcased their musical talent and instilled in them a sense of achievement and teamwork that will stay with them for years to come.
