Vaisakhi 2024

Sikh festival of Vaisakhi

Vaisakhi is a spring festival that Sikhs celebrate on the 13th of April of this year. It is a day to celebrate 1699 when Sikhism was born as a collective faith.

Since the 13th of April fell during our Easter holiday break, we celebrated Vaisakhi when we returned on Thursday, 18th April. Mrs Atwal led us in a special worship where we heard a Vaisakhi story of devotion, and Mrs Atwal also showed us photos of the Vaisakhi parade through Gravesend that had taken place.

During the day, each class made Vaisakhi cards that we then gave to children and families in our community who celebrate Vaisakhi.
