Voices United: A Night of Belonging and Harmony
On the evening of 25th March 2025, twelve of our schools came together to create a truly unforgettable musical experience at the Annual Trust Choir Concert.
The theme of the evening was ‘Belonging’, a sentiment reflected not only in the powerful performances but in the unity and spirit of all those involved. Rehearsals kicked off at 2pm sharp, and the air was filled with excitement and anticipation as students prepared for their big moment. By 6pm, families, friends, and supporters were welcomed to a night filled with beautiful music, heartfelt performances, and a sense of community.
The concert opened with a best-selling Easter musical piece, Out of the Ark’s The Three Little Trees, a charming biblical folk tale composed of four songs and a simple script. It set the tone for the evening: a celebration of unity, hope, and belonging.
The night continued with a spectacular lineup of songs, each chosen to showcase the talent, dedication, and diversity of our schools. Here’s a glimpse at the stunning performances by our students:

- Go the Distance – Michael Bolton, performed by Sedleys Choir
- Out of the Darkness – from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, performed by Halling Choir
- One for the Radio – McFly, performed by Holy Trinity Choir
- Carry You Home – Alex Warren, performed by Shorne Choir
- How Far I’ll Go – from Moana, performed by Rosherville Choir
- Sing – Gary Barlow, performed by Cliffe Woods Choir
- Defying Gravity – from Wicked, performed by St. George’s Secondary
- Belong Together – Mark Ambor, performed by Ditton Choir
- You’ve Got a Friend – Carole King, performed by Sutton At Hone Choir
- Up Where We Belong – Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes, performed by St. Botolph’s Choir
- Chosen Family – Elton John, performed by St. George’s Primary Choir
- Stronger Together – Military Wives, performed by Stone St. Mary’s Choir
The concert reached its peak with a powerful performance from the Trust Staff Choir, who sang We’re All In This Together, followed by a heartwarming rendition of Stand By Me and I’ll Be There For You – songs that had all the choirs, including staff, standing together in harmony.
The sight of all our schools joining forces to create such a moving performance was a testament to the theme of the night: Belonging. It wasn’t just about the songs or the individual performances, but about the collective power of coming together, creating a community that celebrates each voice, and fostering a sense of unity.
The evening was a reminder that music has the incredible ability to bring people together, transcend differences, and create bonds that last a lifetime. As we closed the concert with all choirs standing side by side, it was clear that belonging was not just a theme – it was a lived experience, something that was felt in every note sung, every word spoken, and every smile shared.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the students, teachers, and staff for their hard work and dedication in making this event a success. And to the families who joined us – thank you for your support and for being part of this special evening.
A special thank you must go to Jane Rolfe, whose tireless efforts and meticulous organisation made this incredible event possible. Her dedication to bringing all of our schools together and ensuring every detail was perfect was truly invaluable. We are so grateful for her commitment to making this concert a memorable experience for everyone involved.
