A Month of Reflection: St. Botolph’s Celebrates Ramadan

To mark the beginning of Ramadan, our school community came together to learn about this special and meaningful time for many of our families. Mrs Atwal shared the significance of Ramadan, explaining why it is observed and how it encourages reflection, generosity, and kindness. She also spoke about the celebration of Eid, helping pupils understand how it is joyfully marked at the end of the month.

As part of our celebrations, the whole school took part in a ‘30 Days of Kindness Challenge’. Each class reflected on ways they could show kindness to others, recording their actions on beautifully decorated crescent moons. These were proudly displayed around the school, creating a wonderful visual reminder of compassion, respect, and community spirit.

To further mark the celebration of Eid, children also created and decorated colourful lanterns, a traditional symbol associated with this special time.

This experience not only deepened pupils’ understanding of Ramadan and Eid but also encouraged everyone to think about how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
