World Views and Religions Day

On 22nd January we celebrated World Views and Religion Day. This term, our big idea focus is ‘Comparison.’

Across the school, children compared Humanists views and discussed similarities and differences between their own beliefs and those of others. Humanism is a world view and not a religion, but a way of thinking and living. Humanists do not believe in God or gods. They believe that this is our only life, so it is very important to live a worthwhile, happy life for ourselves and others.

It was a day of exploration, discovery and encouraging the children to reflect on different views and beliefs. It was lovely to see the children develop their own understanding and enrich their mutual respect and understanding of the diverse community and world in which we live in.
