Year 3 Go Back in Time
Last Thursday, Year 3 became travellers and took part in activities that Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age people would have experienced.
The year group became archaeologists and identified artefacts from each of the time periods, turned the book nook into a cave and completed cave paintings whilst learning about what these have taught historians about life in the Stone Age. The pupils also made clay pots, decorating them with shells as they would have done in both the Stone Age and Bronze Age.
The children then made cookies using ingredients from that period before finally making shelters to replicate round houses found in the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age. One child described ‘the day as the best day in school ever!’
