Year 4 have been invited to take part in this year’s Gravesham Festival of Christmas Lights, in Gravesend Town Centre, on the evening of Friday 19th November; children have already made their lanterns in school.
The meeting point for schools, including ours, will be at the Community Square in front of the Woodville Halls at 4.00pm. At 4.30pm, the Lantern Parade will begin and will make its way through town as the Christmas lights are switched on. The Parade will arrive back at the Community Square at 5.15pm for the switching on of the Christmas tree lights. Additional information about the event is attached.
At least one member of staff will be attending but will not be responsible for the children. All children will need to be accompanied by a parent or carer during the whole of the evening.
Please note that due to the public nature of this event, there will be photographers in the parade and a camera person who will be filming a short video. The images and video will be used for publicity, including for the press and promotional purposes.
If you are happy for your child to take part in the Festival, please provide your consent via ParentPay by Friday 12th November 2021 so that we know how many pupils to expect. Please also provide the name of the adult who will accompany them throughout the celebrations. We do hope that you will be able to come along and join the fun!
